The DJI Mini 2 doesn’t have the Follow Me mode like other DJI high-end drones. To keep it small and compact and limit the weight to 250 grams, DJI has removed many sensors, including ones used to enable the Follow Me mode. The DJI Mavic Mini 2 does not have a Follow Me feature but is still a really great starter drone.

The only feature that allows the Mavic to fly backwards automatically is if you enable backward flying for Active Track. It should stop, though, when it's close enough to an obstacle.
